Redemption!

Hi friends,
It took me almost 3 weeks to decide on what should I write . Its not that I am short of ideas (in a cricket crazy nation you are never short of ideas:)).,its just that I wanted to write about something that has been disturbing me or in fact all of us for a very long time.
We as human beings are governed by a lot of aspects and in search of success we have become extremely small as far as our good deeds are concerned. All of us love our country India. I respect and admire its vast culture and its age old traditions.
But for the past few years I feel suffocated and engulfed in “something”. What this “something” is? Well I can see corrupt politicians , the corrupt officials , the corrupt judiciary and the corrupt side of me taking away the shine of my country. But what I am doing , simply nothing,, watching like a mute spectator waiting for the worst to happen. I wonder how many of us can really stand in front of the the mirror and face ourselves. Well I can’t!!
I have become the slave of all the corruption prevailing around me. There are times when I feel like burning the first few pages of the news paper because it reminds me of my inability to do anything . There’s a lot of anger and anguish in all of us against these evils that have prevailed in the society , but we have always followed the age old tendency to vent it out towards those who are weak because they wont retaliate.

A century by Sachin or Dravid is admired by the whole country, but when it comes to getting reservations , we tend to separate ourselves into states, religions, castes . WHY??
Forget the neighboring countries , we are our biggest enemies.

Frankly speaking, we have become puppets at the hands of handful of corrupt politicians by our own admission . We don’t want to change, we expect others to move ahead and we be a mere follower, we had been governed by the Britishers because of the same attitude and we still haven’t changed .
Friends ,please do rise up, channelize your anger , don’t do it for the country, do it for yourself because we cannot carry this life long burden of “watch everything and do nothing” . The soldiers who die fighting the enemies,won’t have to carry this burden ,but I will and I am sure each one of you who has been a mere spectator will carry this burden.

A small change in your attitude can bring about a huge change in the society. So please don’t turn off your eyes, when you see a corrupt official accepting a bribe, an old lady begging on a street, a blind man crossing the streets,………..because I am sure you will feel much better( with your changed attitude) than what you are feeling right now while reading these lines.

Friends its always good to die gloriously than to exist like a crippled creature.Remember Sandeep Unnikrishnan ,Saurav Kalia ,Bhagat Singh…
